Producer: Château St Cosme, the oldest estate in Gigondas, boasts a winemaking history dating back to 1570. Currently led by Louis Barruol, the 14th generation of his family to tend these vineyards, St Cosme has become a benchmark producer in the Southern Rhône. The estate's 15 hectares of vineyards, including some century-old vines, are farmed organically and biodynamically. Barruol's meticulous approach in both vineyard and cellar, including whole-cluster fermentation and the use of large oak foudres for ageing, results in wines of remarkable depth and authenticity. The 2020 Gigondas exemplifies St Cosme's ability to craft wines that beautifully express the unique terroir of this storied appellation.
